What you build

You write the rules yourself, configure the hooks yourself, hit your own failure modes, and figure out the fixes. That work is where the learning happens. Each module ends at a reference checkpoint preserved as a git tag, so you can diff your overlay against the canonical answer at any point.

  1. Module 1 - The minimum useful overlay. One CLAUDE.md, one settings.json, one skill. By the end, your overlay catches three of four review-shaped bugs seeded in the demo app.
  2. Module 2 - The expanding contract. Rule layering, two more skills, the start of memory, allowlist tuning.
  3. Module 3 - Reliability and verification. Hooks, subagent invocation patterns with trust-but-verify, /loop and /schedule for unattended work.
  4. Module 4 - Team posture. Shared/personal split, CI integration (agent-as-reviewer on PRs, agent-as-formatter nightly), CONTRIBUTING.md a teammate can ramp from in one session.
